Abstract

Background: The biggest problem of dental health in Indonesia was caries with a prevalence of 88.8%. Dental caries that could not be treated anymore could cause pain. Lack of knowledge about tooth extraction raised the perception that if a tooth hurt then the best solution was to extract the tooth. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of patient knowledge about tooth extraction at the Dempo Health Center in Palembang. Method: Descriptive observational. The research sample was taken by total sampling technique in patients with Dempo Health Center in the period September 25th 2019 - October 24th 2019 with a total sample of 224 patients. Data was collected by giving questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by looking at the frequency and percentage. Results: The study showed the level of knowledge of patients was good as many as 126 people (56.2%) and quite as many as 98 people (43.8%). Conclusion: The majority of patients knowledge level was good and there were no patients who had not enough knowledge in Dempo Health Center.
