Abstract

Oil Palm is a plant belonging to the palm family that has enormous potential in producing vegetable oil. In oil palm nurseries generally use inorganic fertilizers, the use of organic fertilizers after fertilizing with inorganic fertilizers can increase the availability of nutrients. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal concentration of quick stick LOF fertilization on oil palm plant growth. This research was conducted in September 2024 - January 2025 at the Shadow House, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD), namely by giving the concentration of quick stick LOF with six treatments of four each with each unit totaling three plants, so there were 72 plants. Fertilization treatment was applied out at 4 (four) weeks after planting with five concentrations of quick stick LOF: P0 = Control (NPK 10 g/liter of water), P1 = 10% (The concentration of 10% gamal leaf POC was dissolving 100 ml of POC in 1 liter of water), P2 = 20%, P3 = 30%, P4 = 40%, P5 = 50%. The variabels observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of plant leaves, plant leaf area, specific leaf area, leaf thickness, leaf green level, petiole length, root length, root fresh weight, root dry weight, crown fresh weight, crown dry weight, stump diameter, soil pH, root crown ratio. The results showed that the treatment of several concentrations of gamal LOF had an effect on plant height 15 weeks after planting, number of leaves 12 weeks after planting and final soil pH and had no effect on other variables. The POC concentration that tends to be optimal was the 10% gamal leaf POC concentration by showing the best average in almost all variables compared to other treatments.
