Abstract
Work fatigue can basically be experienced by anyone, both in the formal and informal sectors, especially in the informal sector such as the tofu industry. Tofu factory workers in Alai Village are generally involved in heavy and repetitive physical activities, such as lifting weights, working in a standing position for a long time, non-ergonomic positions and exposure to noise from the production process. These working conditions have the potential to cause physical fatigue which has an impact on decreased productivity and increased risk of work accidents. This study aims to analyze the factors related to work fatigue in tofu factory workers in Alai Village, Lembak District, South Sumatra. The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 50 workers using total sampling. The variables studied included age, gender, nutritional status, workload, length of service, length of service, smoking habits, and noise. The results showed that 70% of workers experienced work fatigue in the moderate category. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between work fatigue and gender (p-value = 0.040), workload (p-value = 0.042), length of service (p-value = 0.049), smoking habits (p-value = 0.002), and noise (p-value = 0.040). Meanwhile, no significant relationship was found between age (p-value = 1.000), nutritional status (p-value = 0.445), and length of service (p-value = 0.949) with work fatigue. Therefore, preventive efforts are needed such as regulating working hours, dividing the workload more evenly, doing regular stretching, and installing soundproofing on production machines to reduce noise in the workplace.
