Abstract

Coconut derivative products such as coconut oil are products that are in great demand in the global market. Exports of coconut oil from the Philippines ranked first in 2022, exporting 170 million tons, compared to Indonesia exporting 70 million tons. This proves that even though they are both world coconut oil exporters, Indonesia is less competitive than the Philippines. By using Michael E. Porter's Competitive Advantage Theory. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a type of analytical research that examines literature or literature reviews related to the competitiveness factors of Philippine coconut oil exports in the global market. The Philippines' competitive advantage in coconut oil exports makes it superior in the global market. Condition factors, demand factors, industry supporters and related then there are strategies, structures and company competition and government policies that support exports. As well as the quality of the coconut oil produced, products with added value like this make the Philippines able to penetrate the global market segment at more competitive prices. These factors complement each other in the competitiveness of Philippine coconut oil, including geographical advantages supporting coconut production, increasing export demand, a rapidly growing processing industry, international companies operating in the Philippine coconut industry that also strengthen foreign investment, and government policy support are important elements that make the Philippines one of the main players in the global coconut oil market.
