Abstract

The purpose of this research is to (1) Calculate the allocation of labor in the family and use of labor outside the family by comparing the performance of two types of rubber farmers, namely farmers without broiler chicken farms and with rubber farmers who are working on broiler chickens. (2) Measure the closeness of the relationship between the income of rubber farming and the scale of broiler chicken farms cultivated by related farmers, (3) Calculate the contribution of income from broiler chicken farms to the total household income of the intended mixed chicken farms. This research was conducted in Pulau Harapan Village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin District. The selection of this location is purposive location sampling with the consideration that the location is rubber farmers and rubber farmers who work broiler chickens in their rubber gardens. This research was conducted in February 2019 until completion. The research method used is a survey method, the sampling method used is a sampling technique using convenience sampling, where farmers taken samples are farmers that can be found and data processing methods are multiple correlation analysis presented in the form of tabulation of the results of data processing using Microsoft Excel 2007 and SPSS version 25. The results of this study indicate that the allocation of labor for rubber farming is smaller than the allocation for rubber farming and broiler chicken farming. The capital spent on rubber farmers without broiler chicken farms is smaller than the capital spent on rubber farmers seeking broiler chickens. Based on the results of partial and simultaneous correlation analyzes, the variables of rubber farming income and working day ratio (RHOK) have a significant relationship or have a positive effect on the scale of broiler farming. The contribution of broiler farms to total income shows a high value of more than 49 percent (KP> 49%) which is 83.26 percent, which means that the contribution of the broiler chicken business to family income is large.
