Abstract
ABSTRACT Academic stress is a common problem experienced by students, especially at the secondary education level. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services based on snakes and ladders game media in reducing the academic stress level of students in class XI Business Service Office Management (MPLB) at SMK PGRI Pangkalan Balai. The approach used in this research is experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample in this study consisted of 10 students who were identified as experiencing academic stress. The results showed a significant decrease in academic stress levels, indicated by a decrease in the average score from 85.50 at pretest to 74.20 at posttest. Hypothesis testing using paired sample t-test obtained a significance value of 0.007 ( 0,007 < 0.05), which indicates that group guidance services with snakes and ladders game media have a significant effect in reducing students' academic stress.
