Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Calculate the income of rice farming in Telang Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency; (2) Analyze the contribution of rice farming income to the total household income of rice farmers in the area; (3) Analyze the welfare level of rice farmers. The study sample consists of 43 respondents selected using the Slovin method with a margin of error of 15%. The collected data includes primary and secondary data, which are mathematically processed, tabulated, and described descriptively. The results show that the average income of rice farmers in Telang Sari Village is IDR 5,315,302 per month. The contribution of rice farming income to total household income is quite dominant, reaching 60,77%. Meanwhile, the contribution of income from non-rice farming sectors is 21,30%, and income from outside the agricultural sector is 17,93%. From the welfare analysis, it was found that the average income of farmers is higher than the decent living standard (KHL), which is set at IDR 5,105,921 per month. Thus, rice farmers in this area can be categorized as having a relatively good level of welfare. Keywords: welfare, income, rice farming
