Abstract

Climate change is a major challenge in the agricultural sector, particularly in rice cultivation in lowland swamp areas. Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) has been introduced as an innovative approach aimed at improving productivity, resilience to climate change, and reducing environmental impact. This study aims to analyze the relationship between farmers' perceptions of CSA practices and their adoption levels in Pangkalan Glebak Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency. The research method used was a survey with a simple random sampling technique, involving 40 rice farmers as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Likert scale and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results showed that farmers' perceptions of CSA practices were in the high to very high category, particularly in the use of tractors, superior seed varieties, and combine harvesters. However, aspects such as the use of organic fertilizers and planting calendars were still in the high category but not yet optimal. The level of adoption of CSA practices also showed a high tendency, with a significant relationship between perception and the level of agricultural technology adoption. This study concludes that the more positive farmers' perceptions of CSA practices, the higher their level of adoption. Therefore, further efforts in extension services and farmer assistance are needed to optimize CSA implementation in lowland swamp areas, enhancing food security and sustainable agricultural productivity.
