Abstract

PT Priamanaya Energi is one of the mining companies located in South Sumatra. PT Priamanaya Energi in carrying out its mining activities uses an open pit mining system (strip mining). This research focuses on the lowwall slope of Pit PE at PT Priamanaya Energi which experienced a landslide in November 2024. The landslide location was caused by excavation carried out at an angle of 25°-35°, while the actual layer slope was 12°-15°. This research applied the Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM) in the backslide analysis to assess the overall slope stability. Geotechnical mapping conducted in the study area was used to obtain the rock mass classification (RMR) and Geological Strength Index (GSI) values. These data are used as updated material properties that will be processed using Slide Software to calculate the Slope Safety Factor and design slope geometry recommendations. The data can also support the kinematic analysis of slopes that represent similar conditions, allowing the prediction of the type of landslide that could potentially occur at the study site. The research method was carried out by making 3 geotechnical cross sections, namely cross section A-A' with the result of FK recommendation = 4.99 (safe), cross section B-B' with the result of FK actual = 1.57 (safe), and cross section C-C' with the result of FK actual = 3.56 (safe).
