Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antibakteri dan antibiofilm dari ekstrak etanol daun Dillenia suffruticosa (simpur air) terhadap S. aureus. Ekstrak daun diketahui mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin, yang berperan dalam merusak membran, protein, dan proses metabolisme bakteri. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan adalah 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20%. Uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, dan steroid/terpenoid. Uji antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% mampu menghambat pertumbuhan S. aureus. Selain itu, ekstrak juga efektif menghambat pembentukan biofilm dengan persentase hambatan sebesar 62,4% hingga 88,4%, serta mampu mendegradasi biofilm yang telah terbentuk dengan efektivitas antara 69,3% hingga 84,9%. Visualisasi menggunakan Scanning-Electron Microscopy (SEM) menunjukkan berkurangnya struktur biofilm setelah perlakuan ekstrak.
