Abstract

The purpose of this study are (1) To identify the level of motivation of farmers to diversify employment in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Ogan Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra Province, (2) To Calculate the income of farmers who diversify employment in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra Province, ( 3) To analyze the link between motivation and the income of farmers in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Ogan Ogan Ilir South Sumatra Province, (4)To identify the impact of diversification of work on the sustainability of rice farming in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Ogan Ogan Ilir South Sumatra province. The method used in this study is a survey method. The use of this method is intended to make observations directly and thoroughly to obtain information from the sample studied, by conducting sampling to represent the population and collect data through direct interview to the respondents the basis of the questionnaire. Based on the research that has been done is the conclusion The level of motivation of farmers to diversify employment in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Lempuing Jaya subdistrict Ogan Ogan Ilir South Sumatra Province are at high criteria, Income rainfed rice farmers Rp. 53.442.323 per year, the average income of farmers who diversify job Rp. 49.270.000 per year, and total household income in the village of Lubuk Seberuk Lempuing Jaya subdistrict Ogan Ogan Ilir South Sumatra province in 2015 which is an average of Rp. 102 712 322 per year, There is a real connection between earnings after diversifying the motivation of farmers to meet social status, whereas there is no apparent relationship between the three indicators of motivation is the desire to achieve success farming, desire to affiliate, the desire to meet their needs with income, Diversification of the work does not threaten the sustainability of rice farming and food security.
