Abstract
The oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a significant plantation crop for Indonesia, contributing substantially to the country's plantation revenue. This study aimed to determine the effect of administering doses of organic liquid fertilizer from banana peel and urea on the growth of oil palm seedlings and to obtain the best combination dose of organic liquid fertilizer from banana peel and urea in pre nursery. This research was conducted at green house in department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from August to November 2024. The study employed a Factorial Randomize Block Design with two factor. The first factor was the dose of banana peel organic liquid fertilizer (P) consisting of 0 ml LOF/L water (P0), 100 ml LOF/L water (P1), 300 ml LOF/L water (P2), and 500 ml LOF/L water (P3). The second factor was the dose of urea fertilizer consisting of urea 0 g/polybag (N0), urea 2 g/polybag (N1), urea 4 g/polybag (N2), and urea 6 g/polybag (N3). Data from the experiment will be analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if significantly affected, will be further tested using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, leaf greenness, fresh weight of shoots, dry weight of shoots, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of roots, root length, shoot root ratio, and soil pH. The results showed that the interaction between banana peel organic liquid fertilizer and urea fertilizer had a significant effect on the number of leaves. The affect of applying different doses of banana peel liquid organic fertilizer and urea on the growth of oil palm seedling and the determination of the optimal combination dose banana peel organic liquid fertilizer with treatment P2 (LOF 300 ml/L water) gave the best effect for the growth of oil palm seedlings, while the administration of Urea fertilizer with treatment N2 (urea 4 g/polybag) was the best dose for the growth of oil palm seedlings.
