Abstract

Biodiversity is a key component in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, especially in aquatic. Fish play a vital role in the food chain and ecosystem dynamics, including in floodplain swamps such as the Lempuing River and the Tanjung Sari Conservation Area which are habitats for various fish species. The diversity of fish species is influenced by habitat factors, water quality, and interactions between species, and can reflect the ecological conditions of the waters. The process of evolution and speciation increases the number of species, but a higher rate of extinction can lead to a decrease in diversity. Therefore, conservation efforts are very important in maintaining the sustainability of fish biodiversity. The results showed that there were 9 species of fish included in 6 families and 3 Orders. The relatively stable level of gonad maturity of Tembakang fish was at station III with TKG IV and TKG V. Keywords: Diversity of fish species, gonad maturity level, Lempuing River, Tembakang, Ogan Komering Ilir Keanekaragaman hayati merupakan komponen kunci dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem, khususnya pada perairan. Ikan memiliki peran vital dalam rantai makanan dan dinamika ekosistem, termasuk di rawa dataran banjir seperti Sungai Lempuing dan Kawasan Konservasi Tanjung Sari yang menjadi habitat bagi berbagai spesies ikan. Keanekaragaman jenis ikan dipengaruhi oleh faktor habitat, kualitas air, dan interaksi antar spesies, serta dapat mencerminkan kondisi ekologis perairan. Proses evolusi dan spesiasi meningkatkan jumlah spesies, namun laju kepunahan yang lebih tinggi dapat menyebabkan penurunan keanekaragaman. Oleh karena itu, upaya konservasi menjadi sangat penting dalam menjaga kelestarian biodiversitas ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 9 jenis ikan yang termasuk kedalam 6 famili dan 3 Ordo. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan Tembakang yang relatif stabil berada di stasiun III dengan TKG IV dan TKG V.
