Abstract
Padang Selasa Community Health Center is a health center in Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City, that recorded the highest number of dengue fever cases in the past three years, with 34 cases in 2024 and 15 cases in 2025. Home physical environment such as wire mesh ventilation, air temperature, and lighting can be risk factors for the incidence of dengue fever. This study aimed to analyze home physical environment factors associated with the incidence of dengue fever in the working area of Padang Selasa Community Health Center. This research was an epidemiological observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling with a total of 145 respondents. Primary data collection was conducted through interviews using questionnaires, observation sheets, and measurements of home physical environmental variables using a hygrothermometer and a lux meter. Research data were analyzed using chi – square test for bivariate analysis, and multiple logistic regression with a predictive factor model for multivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis results showed that variables associated with the incidence of dengue fever included age (p-value = 0.007; PR = 5.014; CI: 1.648–15.259), lighting (p-value = 0.045; PR = 4.821; CI: 1.079–21.547), wire mesh ventilation (p-value = 0.008; PR = 4.915; CI: 1.363–17.720), and the presence of mosquito larvae (p-value = 0.040; PR = 3.325; CI: 1.022–10.818). Based on the results of multivariate analysis, lighting was the most significantly variable with the incidence of dengue fever, with a p-value of 0.024; PR = 7.278; and CI = 1.296–40.863, after being controlled by wire mesh ventilation, presence of mosquito larvae, and occupation variables. Based on the research findings, the lighting variable was the most significant risk factor with the incidence of dengue fever in Working Area of Padang Selasa Community Health Center.
