Abstract
The Acetic Acid manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 140,000 tons/year is planned to be established in 2034 located in the Kaltim Industrial Estate (KIE) Bontang Industrial Estate, East Kalimantan with an area of 3.42 Ha. The process of making Acetic Acid refers to US Patent RE50,062 E, where the process used is carbonylation of methanol with carbon monoxide which forms acetic acid products. The reaction takes place in a Continous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) (180°C, 15 atm). The company's organizational system is line and staff with 158 employees. The acetic acid plant is feasible because it has met the parameters of economic feasibility: a)Total Capital Investment (TCI)= US$ 93.072.916,1560 b)Total Sales per Year = US$ 137.422.301,5190 c)Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 75.908.904,0447 d)Annual Cash Flow = US$ 35.180.586,7254 e)Pay Out time = 2,5350 f)Rate of return on investment = 42,9596% g)Discounted Cash Flow–ROR = 50,9596% h)Break Even Point (BEP) = 30,9622% i)Shutdown Point = 5% j)Service Life = 11 tahun Keywords: Methanol Carbonylation, Acetic Acid, Continuous Strirred Tank Reactor
