Abstract
Pagaralam City, characterized by steep topography, a humid climate, and rapid land use changes, is highly susceptible to landslide disasters. This study aims to map landslide hazard zones and classify the hazard levels in Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City, using Geographic Information System (GIS) methods. Five primary parameters were used: geology, slope steepness, soil type, rainfall, and land cover. Each parameter was assigned a score and weight based on its influence, then combined using a weighted overlay process to produce a landslide hazard map. The results indicate that Dempo Utara District is divided into three hazard levels: low, moderate, and high. Out of the total area of 8,460.40 hectares, 10.43 % is categorized as highly prone, 47.82 % as moderately prone, and 41.74 % as not prone. Areas with the highest hazard levels are predominantly characterized by steep slopes, loose soil, and high rainfall.
