Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of organic acid in silage contained Hymenachne acutigluma and Neptunia oleracea lour. This research was conducted in August-December 2016in the Integrated Research Laboratory of Sriwijaya University Post Graduate Program.This study used a completely randomized design which consists of 3 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consists of P1 (silage of Hymenachne acutigluma), P2 (silage of 50% Hymenachne acutigluma and 50% Neptunia oleracea lour), P3 (silage of Neptunia oleracea lour). The variables measured were total of acid, pH, as well as profile organic acid consisting of lactic acid, acetate acid and butyric acid. The results showed that treatment significantly (P <0.05) on total of acid, the degree of pH, and the percentage of lactate acid, but the effect was not significant (P> 0.05) on the percentage of acetate acid and butyric acid. it was concluded that the best organic acid profile in treatment of silage Hymenachne acutigluma, because that is have a percentage of 2,78% lactic acid, acetate acid 1,00%, 0,35% butyric acid, total of acid 3,80%, and pHvalue 4,21.
