Abstract
This study aims to know about the diversity as assessed by the diversity index, dominance index, and relative abundance values for Gastropoda in the Musi River Basin (DAS) in the Musi Banyuasin Regency. This study was conducted from February to April 2025 under tidal water conditions. This study is a quantitative descriptive research using survey methods, exploration techniques, and purposive sampling techniques. The research was conducted at four stations: Epil Village, Bailangu Village, Lumpatan, and Sekayu. The results of the study indicate that five species of Gastropoda were found, with a total of 757 individuals. The species found were Pomacea canaliculata (320 individuals), Pila ampullacea (287 individuals), Pomacea paludosa (24 individuals), Filopaludina sumatrensis (15 individuals), and Achatina fulica (111 individuals). The most abundant Gastropods species was Pomacea canaliculata, with 320 individuals. The Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index value for Gastropods in the Musi River Basin is 2.025 (moderate). The Simpson Dominance Index value for Gastropods in the Musi River Basin is 0,343 (down). The relative abundance value for the Pomacea canaliculata species is 0.423, the relative abundance value of the Pila ampullacea species is 0.379, the relative abundance value of the Pomacea paludosa species is 0.032, the relative abundance value of the Filopaludina sumatrensis species is 0.020, and the relative abundance value of the Achatina fulica species is 0.147. The relative abundance value of the five Gastropoda species in the Musi River Basin is 1.00 (high). The implications of this study are information regarding species diversity, Diversity Index, Dominance Index, and Abundance of the five Gastropods species, and as enrichment material for Biology learning in Grade X of the Merdeka Curriculum in Phase E on Biodiversity.
