Abstract

Nowadays, dependence on electrical energy is gelting increased. With increase the needs of electrical energy, the quality of available energy need to be improved so it can really be used wisely. Steam povver plant is the System of power plant that using coal as the energy sources. the rale of e.\ergy destruction. Exergy analysis method is better than energy analysis, because of the exergy analysis not only based on the First lavv of thermodynamics. bui it?s combining the first and the second law of thermodynamics. Beside that. performance analysis front economic factor using exergoeconomic analysis is needed to calculate the cosl of excrgy destruction. Keban Agung 2x135 MW coal-fired steam power plant PT. Priamanaya Energy located at Kebur. West Merapi, Lahat. South Sumatera. This power plant consisl oftwo units of power plant and each ofthem has 150 MW maximum capacily. but wlten collecting data, only unit 2 that operate because unit 1 was overhauling so that is not operating. The reference book used by author as based on material is ‘The Exergy Method of Thermal Power Plant" created by T.J. Kotas and "Thermal Design and Oplimization" created by Bejan, et, all. And also some joumals about exergy and exergoeconontic analysis of steam power plant as the concept in analyzing the System that author analyzed. Data collection method that used by author is direct observation to Keban Agung coal-Fired steam power plant PT. Priamanaya Energy Lahat, there are boiler. steam turbine, condenser, condensate pump, deaerator, low pressure heater. high pressure heater, and boiler feed pump with 135 MW operation condition and with assumption the environment temperature is 27°C. For the investment, operation and maintenance cost of the components based on the literature. Before analyze the exergy of each components, first find the flow rate ofeach State using mass balance. The result of exergy analysis that can be seen at table 5.4 has shown that the maximum rational cfficiency was found at high pressure turbine which is about 96.902835%. It showed that the fuel exergy rate that enter the high pressure turbine's system can be converted significantly by to produet exergy in the from of output work that produced by high pressure turbine is 59.176054 MW with the rate of exergy destruction (irreversibility) is about 5.775836 MW. The minimum rational efficiency was found at boiler which is about 60.448445%, so this system is quite needs further studies on the cause of the problem. This is directly proportional with The rate of exergy destruction (irreversibility) that occurs in boiler, which is about 202.853270 M W. The exergoeconomic analysis that can be seen at table 5.7 has shown that the maximum cost of exergy destruction was found at boiler which is about 1884.190962 USD/h. But, the f taetor ol boiler is 77.869526%. It showed that the maximum of economic The exergy analysis is very needed to evaluate the system9s performance and find XVII efficiency was found at boiler, because f factor is the scale which demonstrate how effective investment. operation, and maintenance cost of the machine with total cosl of exergy destruction.
