Abstract
channel. In designing a closed-channel system to determine the magnitude of minor losses of the channel system required data in the form of flow velocity and minor coefficients. In the distribution of air flow, channel enlargement and channel reduction are found in industry or other large buildings. Viewed from the type of enlargement and downsizing there are two types of enlargement and reduction that is gradually and suddenly. In this study conducted an experimental study to determine the loss of abrupt enlargement and reduction of the channel is to create a graph of minor coefficient relationship due to enlargement and channel reduction of the flow rate. The objective of this research is to get the value of head loss (hl) to flow rate (Q). The value of the minor coefficient (K) to the ratio area (d / D). From the research that has been done, it is found that the greater the discharge used the greater the head loss that occurs. Based on the test, head loss at the largest sudden enlargement occurred at 0.5.5 inch diameter enlargement to 10.5 inches with 140 L / min discharge of 0.00910 mOil. While the lowest head loss value is at an enlargement of 0.5 inches to 1 inch with a discharge 60 L / min of 0.00195 mOil. Meanwhile, head loss at the largest sudden decrease occurred at 10.5 in. Diameter duet diameter to 0.5 inch with 140 L / min discharge of 0.00650 mOil. While the lowest head loss value is at 1 inch down to 0.5 inch with 60 L / min discharge of 0.00097 mOil. There is a decrease in the value of the minor coefficient (K) to the ratio area (d / D), the highest experimental experimental sudden magnification K value is at an enlarged diameter of 0.5 inches to 10.5 inches with a ratio of area ratio (d / D) 0 of 0.87. As for the lowest experimental lowest experimental magnification K is found at 0.5 cm diameter magnification to 1 inch with a ratio of area ratio (d / D) 0.5 by 0.32. For the highest experimental experimental abrupt rate K was found in diameters of 10.5 inches to 0.5 inches with a ratio area (d / D) of 0.43. As for the experimental lowest rate of sudden reduction, there is a reduction in diameter of 1 inch to 0.5 inch with a ratio area (d / D) 0 of 0.19.
