Abstract
Sulfuric acid plant with the capacity of 100,000 ton/year planned to constructed in 2024 at Cilacap, Central Java approximately 5,5 Ha. The raw materials for producing sulfuric acid are sulfur, air, and water. Sulfuric acid manufacturing process refers to US Patent Number 2018/127271 A1 with combustion process of sulfur to form sulfur dioxide, the oxidation process of sulfur dioxide to form sulfur trioxide, and the hydration process of sulfur trioxide to form sulfuric acid products. The first and second reactors are fixed multibed reactor type reactors that use V2O5 catalyst. First reactor operates at a temperature of 420oC and a pressure of 1.5 atm while the second reactor operates at a temperature of 370oC and a pressure of 1.5 atm. This plant will be established by adopting Perseroan Terbatas (PT) system with the Line and Staff organization system, which is led by a Director with a total of 161 employees. Based on the results of economic analysis, the sulfuric acid plant is feasible to be established because it has fulfilled various economic parameter requirements, such as: • Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 29,575,767.840 • Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 27,066,654.860 • Selling Price (SP) = US$ 45,000,000.00 • Annual Cash Flow = US$ 14,838,513.300 • Pay Out Time = 1.081 year • Rate of Return = 42.445% • Break Even Point = 28.759% • Service Life = 11 year Keywords: Sulphur, Sulfuric Acid, Wet Sulfuric Acid, Fixed Multibed Reactor, Economic Analysis
