Abstract

absorbs energy in large numbers and rotary kiln is an important part system thermal energy is used as a combustion and formation of clinker, therefore it is necessary to analyze the heat transfer to know the area shell kiln potentially plastically deformed cause high temperature heat. The temperature in the inner wali coating rotary kiln that reaches 1450°C with material type Steel ASTM 516 Grade 70 with inside there are refractories and coating. Conduction heat analysis in the wali of the shell kiln on 3 points such as 4, 18.5 and 33 meter at buming zone using FEM and SolidWorks program by forming equations 1D mathematical models of the energy equation to the equation of heat conduction 1D cylindrical geometry with FEM. Results from SolidWorks, FEM and Centurion TK50 in meter 4 and 18.5 have different ranges ± 20 ° C - 30 ° C. Different with results in the meter to 33 meter for SolidWorks and FEM have different ranges between ± 25 °C, while the Centurion TK50 different results higher than FEM ranges between ± 50 °C and ± 73 °C with SolidWorks. The amount of heat flow rate (Q) actual point 33 meter at 61005.05 W, the meter all 33 indicated the greatest heat flow rate from the others, because the high temperatures found in the point 33 meter. Keywords : FEM, SolidWorks, Centurion TK50, Rotary Kiln, Refractories, Clinker, Conduction, ASTM 516 Grade 70, 1 dimension, validation Vll
