Abstract

Flows in the pipe is one of transportation method to bring the fluids from one place to the other place. Phase of the fluids that flowing through the pipe usually be in the form of liquid, gas, or multi phase. Two phase flows is one of the multi phase flows type, which this two phase flows is composed from two different fluids phase. Two phase flows can be found in dayly life and industry process, which is in exhaust duet, steam turbine, petroleum industry, etc. Flows in the pipe actually has pressure drop along the pipe which is really important to us if we want to design piping system. The biggest fluid flow losses in the pipe is result of the frietion between fluid and the pipe surface. This losses is usually occured in multi phase flows, because the interaetion between the phase in this case its water and air. The important thing that we need to analysed before we start to studied about Pressure Drop are the roughness, lenght, diameter of the pipe, fluid type, velocity and flow pattem. Flow pattem and pressure drop can studied through the experiments, then the result is validated by teoritical calculation. The result of experiment is based on teoritical calculation. In this experiment shown that 10° and 5° inelination having Stratified Wavy and Smooth Stratified flow pattem, while at 0°, -5°, and -10° inelination, the pattem is dissapeared. The biggest pressure drop value can we see at 10° inelination and the smallest at -10°, So we can assumed that more bigger the downward inelination, the pressure drop value will more bigger too, otherwise more bigger the upward inelination, the pressure drop value will getting smaller. Keywords : Pressure drop, downward, upward, smooth stratified flow, stratified wavy, flow pattem
