Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the mechanical properties of welded joints to influence the current parameters of low carbon steel. Low carbon steel is a metal that has many advantages, such as lightweight, malleable, it's cheap and has good weldability characteristics. How welding low carbon steel can be welded with all manner of welding that exist in practice and the results will be better if the preparation is perfect and the conditions are met. In general, defects in welding is also common in low-carbon steel, usually caused by defects in the welding current is too high which causes the steel plate is curved or curve.after determine the current use then immediately do the welding process. After the welding process continued with test die penetrant for detecting defects existing in the weld metal, after which the process is carried out penujian mechanical, beruja hardness HRB and dipatkan highest value in the area of the weld metal by 88 HRB and the smallest is the base metal by 48 HRB , After testing continued with the HRB hardness testing methods curved root bend and weld bend and obtained the highest yield at 66.22 kgf root bend and weld bend highest number of 64.45 kgf. then proceed with testing Metallographic to see the structure of ferrite and perlite. And continued with SEM testing aims to analyze existing fracture.
