Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the influence of tractor speed and pattern of land ridging to the characteristic of the ridges furrower double bottom. This research has been done in the Experimental Farm. Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya, South Sumatra in December 2014 to September 2015. The research was conducted using Factorial Block Randomized Design with two treatment factors tractor speed difference which consists of three levels is 2 km/h, 3 km/h and 4 km/h and land bedding pattern consisting of three levels, namely the edge of the pattern, the pattern of central and continuous pattern. Parameters in this study is field capacity (m2/s), work efficiency (%), fuel necessary (ml/m2), wheel slip (%), soil water content (%), of bulk density (g/cm3), the size of the mounds. The results showed that the interaction speed of the tractor significant effect on the wide top of the ridges while the interaction patterns of land bedding no significant effect on the characteristics of the ridges. The best treatment is a combination of the speed of the tractor are at 3 km/h and bedding middle pattern (S2P2) with a height of 21,52 cm ridges, below the ridge width of 52,56 cm and 20,60 cm wide upper ridges. Best work efficiency found in S3P3 treatment with the working efficiency of 96,21%.
