Abstract

Fenomena cosplay di Indonesia berkembang sebagai ruang ekspresi generasi muda, namun bagi Muslimah berhijab muncul tantangan untuk menyeimbangkan nilai agama dengan budaya populer. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hijab cosplay sebagai sintesis antara fashion dan agama dalam komunitas cosplay di Kota Palembang dengan menggunakan teori fenomenologi Alfred Schutz untuk memahami pengalaman subjektif dan intersubjektif para pelaku. Metode penelitian kualitatif fenomenologis diterapkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi pada event cosplay, dan dokumentasi media sosial dengan informan yang terdiri dari hijab cosplayer, cosplayer non-hijab, pengunjung, dan ustadz. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hijab cosplay menjadi ruang alternatif bagi Muslimah untuk berkarya di ranah budaya populer sambil mempertahankan identitas religius melalui strategi seperti styling hijab menyerupai rambut karakter, penggunaan manset atau legging longgar, dan pemilihan karakter yang sesuai syariat, meski tetap menghadapi kendala teknis serta tekanan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memberikan saran terkait dukungan komunitas, penguatan kapasitas teknis, kebijakan event inklusif, edukasi publik, dukungan keluarga, dan pengembangan studi komparatif lintas kota maupun negara.
