Abstract
Falling Weight Deflectometer is used to evaluate the strength of asphalt pavement easily, quickly, and one of not destructive test. Falling weight deflector is an asphalt pavement test to determine the thickness calculation of the added layer design on existing ones experiencing structural damage. Testing the FWD instrument is done by dropping the impulse load through a circular plate. Based on Minister of Public Works Regulation No. 13 / PRT / M / 2011 Road preservation is a road handling activity in the fonn of prevention, maintenance and repairs needed to maintain the condition of the road so tliat it continues to function optimally to serve trafflc until the planned age can be achieved. The puipose of this study was to calculate tlie handling thickness and determine the type of preservation and the remaining age of the national road section of South Sumatra Betung - Batas Kota Sekayu segment (Sta.00 + 000 - Sta. 25 + 000). As a reference for calculating thick handling, preservation type, and residual age of the pavement used the 1993 AASHTO Method and 2017 Pavement Design Manual 2017 Ministry of Public Works Directorate General of Highways. The results of analysis and calculation of handling thickness, determination of preservation type and residual age are 32 road handling segments consisting of 5 routine maintenance segments, 1 minor rehabilitation segment, 5 segments of two-tier major rehabilitation, 9 segments of three-tier major rehabilitation and 12 reconstruction segments.
