Abstract
The Acetic Acid plant, with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year, is planned to be constructed in 2028 and begin operation in 2030, located in the Guntung area, North Bontang District, Bontang City, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, covering an estimated area of 2.2 hectares. The raw materials used in the production of Acetic Acid are Methanol and Carbon Monoxide. The production process is based on Patent US 11,807,597 B2. The reaction takes place in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) equipped with a sparger, operating under conditions of 190°C and 27 atm. The plant is established as a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a Line and Staff organizational structure, led by a President Director and employing a total of 126 personnel. Based on the economic analysis, this Acetic Acid plant is considered feasible to establish, as it meets the required economic feasibility parameters, as follows: Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 33,631,347.18 Total Annual Sales = US$ 240,635,832.97 Total Production Cost (TPC) = US$ 156,851,715.24 Annual Cash Flow = US$ 27,886,615.83 Pay Out Time (POT) = 1.31 years Rate of Return on Investment (ROR) = 74.74% Discounted Cash Flow – ROR = 168.62% Break Even Point (BEP) = 36.34% Service Life = 11 years Keywords: Acetic Acid, Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor, Limited Liability Company
