Abstract
Dry transportation is one of the ways that need to be developed for fish fry distribution. The proper density in the transportation is beneficial. Shelfs are useful for the efficiency packaging space in order to increase capacity. The purpose of this research is to know the survival rate of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus) fry after transportation with dry transportation system at different stock density and after one week rearing. This research has been conducted on 19th January 2017 until 10th February 2017 at Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan of Aquaculture Departement, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research used completely random design with three treatment of densities and three replications, consist of P1 (50 fish/609 cm2), P2 (60 fish/609 cm2), P3 (70 fish/609 cm2). Parameter observed were packaging temperature before and after transportation, length of recovery period, the survival rate after transportation, one week rearing , and water quality. Stock density showed non significant different to length of recovery period, the fastest length of recovery period at treatment P3 181.49 seconds. While the survival rate of climbing perch fry after transportationhad significant influence to stock density. The higher survival rate at treatment P1 26.48%. Water quality during one week rearing, indicated temperature that rangedfrom 28.1-30.3 oC, pH ranged from 5-6 unit, DO (Dissolved oxygen) ranged from 6.86-9.90 mg/L and ammonia ranged from 0.03-0.11 mg/L, with 100% survival in each treatment.
