Abstract

This thesis entitled, "Punk group Lifestyle at Muara Enim City." The research problem was to analyze the identity and lifestyle of Punk group at Muara Enim city. The research was descriptive qualitative research. There were fourteen informants in this study, eight informants are punk group members, three informants are the punk group members' parents and other three informants are local citizens. The data was gathered through interviews with informants and direct observation to the punk group meeting point location. In this study, punk is a group of teenagers that consists of boys and girls who have similarities in thoughts or vision, desires and appearance. The punk group members look different from common teenagers, it is generally seen by the appearances and activities they do when they get together. The results of this research related to Punk group lifestyle showed that there is an implicit message delivered by a punk group through appereances and activities they do which bring certain purposes for both individual and other groups.
