Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat gambaran keterampilan proses dasar dan pemahaman konsep siswa di kelas VII. Keterampilan dasar yang diamati meliputi keterampilan mengamati, mengkomunikasikan, menyimpulkan dan meramalkan. Sedangkan pemahaman konsep yang dilihat adalah pada aspek translasi dan interpretasi. Berdasarkan rata – rata aktivitas keterampilan proses siswa untuk keterampilan mengamati sebesar 81%, keterampilan mengkomunikasikan sebesar 59% , keterampilan menyimpulkan sebesar 70%, dan keterampilan memprediksi sebesar 77%. Rata – rata pemahaman konsep translasi siswa sudah dapat dikategorikan baik (67,5) , sedangkan pemahaman interpretasinya masih kurang (36). Terdapat 4 kelompok berdasarkan pencapaian keterampilan proses dan pemahaman konsep siswa yaitu kelompok siswa yang memiliki keterampilan proses yang baik – amat baik (80% - 100%) dan mengalami peningkatan pemahaman konsep salah satu aspek maupun kedua aspek pemahaman (12 orang), kelompok siswa yang memiliki keterampilan proses yang baik – amat baik dan mengalami penurunan pemahaman konsep (5 orang), Kelompok ketiga adalah kelompok siswa yang memiliki rata – rata keterampilan proses yang rendah – cukup (50% - 69%) dan mengalami peningkatan pemahaman konsep (9 orang), dan kelompok siswa yang memiliki keterampilan proses rendah – cukup dan mengalami penurunan pemahaman konsep (6 orang).
