Abstract
Based on the data from the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia in 2008, the activeness of Posyandu in coverage nationally until 2010 only reached 78% of the target of 80%. Posyandu in Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang working area consist of 16 to 73 cadres. There are about 75% of active cadres and 25% inactive cadres in Posyandu activities. The percentage for the liveliness of cadres have not yet reached the target set by the Ministry of Health. Therefore the aim of this study was to see whether there is a relationship between knowledge, motivation, job design, reward and monitoring system towards cadre's performance in Posyandu in Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang. This study used a quantitative research method that used analytic survey with cross sectional study. The population in this study is the Posyandu cadres. The number of samples in this study were 68 cadres that selected by simple random sampling technique using 2 different proportions hypothesis test formula. Bivariate analysis performed by using Chi-square test. The analysis results of the research that has been done, it was found that the bivariate test showed there is a relationship (significant correlation) between knowledge with cadres’ performance (p = 0.003), motivation with cadres’ performance (p = 0.005), job design with cadres’ performance (p = 0.000), reward with cadres’ performance (p = 0.023). Results of the analysis showed no relation between monitoring system with cadres’ performance (p = 0.067). This study recommends suggestions for community health centers and relevant government authorities in this working area to conduct counseling regarding priority activities and the role of cadres, held a counseling about posyandu information system (SIP), held a training on how to fill out and read KMS correctly, the monitoring system needs to be improved towards the performance of cadres, did the selection of exemplary and skilled cadres, it is necessary to motivate and give full support to cadres, did good cooperation with cadres and providing incentives for volunteers who have carried out good performance.
