Abstract

The objectives of the research was to identify wild plants that have potential as ornamental plants for element portable garden, to produce draft design, and to apply the design on the front page Department of Agronomi building. Research conducted from November 2015 through August 2016. The methods used were exploration, survey and experimentation. Data were obtained through questionnaires then analyzed using the Likert Scale calculations. Stages of the study include 1) exploration, 2) Inventory, 3) analysis, 4) Synthesis, 5) Concept, 6) Development of design. The results of the study indicated that 26 species, 5 types of wild herbal and grass plants have the potential as ornamental plants, Ruelia tuberosa, Asystasia gangentica, Polygala paniculata, Cyperus rotundus dan Pennisetum polystachion. For designing generated three design alternatives, emphasize the of shapes and lines in form of geometrical (circle, square, curved). The election results show that design two chosen by respondents with a percentage of 43%.
