Abstract
Spirulina platensis can be used as a natural food source for fish because it has high nutritional value. Spirulina production technology in catfish waste media can be an alternative to reduce production costs and at the same time reduce aquaculture waste which often pollutes the waters. The quality of the biomass can be a functional feed material for fish farming. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used (P0) control, (P1) addition of commercial feed with Spirulina platensis cultured in fertilizer media (SP) 5 g Kg-1, (P2) addition of commercial feed with Spirulina platensis cultured in waste media (SL) 5 g Kg-1 and (P3) addition of commercial feed with Spirulina platensis Spirulina platensis cultured in fertilizer media (SP) 2.5 g Kg-1 and Spirulina platensis cultured in waste media (SL) 2.5 g Kg-1. The result showed that the P3 treatment gave the best value with hematocrit levels 22.67%, erythrocytes total 2.47x106 cell per mm3, absolute growth weight 9.78%, absolute growth length 4.48 cm, feed efficiency 75.94%, survival rate 91.97% and feed consumption total 241.10 g. Water quality obtained from this research were temperature 28.8-29.8 oC, pH 6.3-7.8, dissolved oxygen 2.90-8.20 mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.04-0.65 mg L-1.
