Abstract
This Final Project explains about the use of a three phase induction motor with a power of 22 kW which is used as a driving force for a 4852-V Conveyor Belt at PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. The author found a problem where frequent trips to the three phase induction motor were added to the fertilizer load from the Pusri plant 4. The measurement results showed that the 4852-V induction motor could only accommodate 144 tons / hour to 225 tons / hour, but not load on it. Likewise with the results of calculations from processing some supporting data in the field also obtained the same results with the results of the measurement. Analysis of the calculation results shows that the problem that occurs in the 4852-V Conveyor Belt unit is due to the lack of power needed to drive the Belt Conveyor when the fertilizer load is increased to a maximum capacity of 300 tons / hour. For the smooth operation of this 4852-V Belt Conveyor unit, the induction motor as the main driver must be replaced with 30 kW induction motor.
