Abstract

The objective of this research is to compare soybean cultivars which highly responsive to photoperiod, optimum growth stage and optimum time of photoperiod in increasing soybean seed quality. The research was carried out at BBI Sebapo and Basic Laboratory Batanghari University from May to August 2009. The experimental design being employes was Split-Split Plot Design with three levels of light period (12, 14, and 16 hours), four growth stage (Vn, R1, R2 and R3), and four cultivars (Anjasmoro, Burangrang, Rajabasa and Ijen). The result showed that Anjasmoro cultivar was higly responsive to photoperiod with optimal time of 14 hours and 54 minutes per day. Increasing time to photoperiod from germination gave detrimental effect on the delay of the floweing time to 140 days after sowing, plant senensence and incomplete grain filling.
