Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Kecamatan Indralaya Utara Kabuaten Ogan Ilir, mulai pada bulan Mei - Juli 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan takaran pupuk nitrogen optimum untuk pertumbuhan tanaman bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) Varietas Pancasona.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok, sehingga diperoleh 20 unit perlakuan dengan setiap unit perlakuan ada 7 tanaman.Total tanaman sebanyak 140 tanaman dengan perlakuan pupuk N yaitu N0= kontrol (tanpa nitrogen), N1= 200 kg Urea/ha(0,46 g N/tanaman), N2= 250 kg Urea/ha (0,575 g N/tanaman), N3 =300 kg Urea/ha (0,69 g N/tanaman), N4 =350 kg Urea/ha (0,805 g N/tanaman). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan pupuk nitrogen memberikan pengaruh pada diameter umbi dan berat kering angin umbi, perlakuan kontrol (tanpa nitrogen) memiliki nilai rerata paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan semua perlakuan dan tidak berbeda nyata dengan takaran dosis 200 kg urea/ha (0,46 g N/tanaman), 250 kg urea/ha (0,575 g N/tanaman), 350 kg urea/ha (0,805 g N/tanaman). Penggunaan takaran pupuk nitrogen dengan dosis 200 kg urea/ha (0,46 g N/tanaman) dapat direkomendasikan untuk tanaman bawang merah varietas Pancasona.
