Abstract

The Relationship of Patient’s Characteristic, Physical Activity and Smoking with Hypertension Degree in Elderly on Public Health Center in District Ilir Timur II Palembang. Hypertension is the most non-communicable disease that lead to any complications in elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of patient’s characteristic, physical activity and smoking with hypertension degree in elderly. This study was observational analytic study using cross sectional. The assessment of physical activity using International Physical Activity Questionnaire and for smoking using from Pedoman Dokter Paru Indonesia. Chi-square analysis has shown that there are significant association between age (p=0,006 and 0,001; POR=5,29 and 8,74), family history (p=0,0019; POR=2,85), physical activity (p=0,012 and 0,025; POR=3,43 dan 4,58) with hypertension degree. In this analysis has shown that are not significant association between sex (p=1,000), job (p=0,134) and smoking (p=0,653) with hypertension degree. On the other hand, binary logistic regression analysis assume that age was the most compelling factor that is influencing hypertension degree
