Abstract

Background: Henoch-Sconlein Purpura (HSP) is a systemic inflammation of the blood vessels that is most common in children, especially affected the skin, intestine, joints and kidney. This disease can cause complications such as nephritic. Henoch-Schonlein Nephritic (NHS) could be self-limited or develop into chronic kidney disease. Objective: To determine the risk factors of nephritis in pediatric Henoch-Schonlein Purpura patients in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period of 2016-2019. Methods: This study is an observational analytic research with cross sectional design that used medical records as secondary data. The data was collected at the medical records installation in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in the Register of Nephrology and Childhood Immunology Allergy in September-October 2019. The medical record data that fulfilled the inclusion criteria was 102 data from 139 medical records data of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin during 1 January 2016 - 31 August 2019. Results: From 102 respondents, there were 27 patients (26.4%) with nephritis. Most patients with henoch-schonlein purpura were found at age <10 years as much as 60 people (58.8%) and more men (53.9%) than women (46.1%). There were 64 patients with severe abdominal pain (62.7%). All patients took corticosteroids as medication (100%) and experienced persistent purpura complaints of 9 people (8.8%). There was significant association between severe abdominal pain with the incidence of Nephritic Henoch-Schonlein (NHS) with (p<0.05). Age and persistent purpura were not proven Nephritic Henoch-Schonlein (NHS) Conclusion : Severe abdominal pain is a risk factor for the incidence of Nephritic Henoch-Schonlein (NHS).
