Abstract

The field of medical informatics develops around the structure, storage and processing of medical information for various purposes. One of these goals is to develop algorithms that can make predictions about diagnoses. In processing the diagnosis of skin disease takes time because the processing of this diagnosis depends on the complexity and characteristics of the disease. The amount of data in this study is 186 images of skin diseases. In this study a comparison of back propagation neural networks and Kohonen SOM was performed. The results showed that the accuracy of the Reverse Propagation neural network method reached 59.45% while Kohonen SOM reached 36.63%. This is because the data is too little to be trained in both methods.
