Abstract

This research aims to explained intertextual relevance of the cultural elements in novel Namaku Teweraut by Ani Sekarningsih, and to described the transformation techniques that used in the NT novel to the Asmat tribe culture. This research used descriptive qualitative method and intertextual analysis technique. This research used data sources such as NT novel and Asmat tribe culture in the form of books titled Asmat: Menyingkap Budaya Suku Pedalaman Irian Jaya by Dea Sudarman and Manusia Irian Jaya: Dahulu, Sekarang, Masa Depan by Jan Boelaars. This research showed that (1) there were intertextual relevances of the culture elements between NT novel with Asmat tribe culture; and (2) NT novel used all of the transformation techniques. Conversion techniques was the most used technique in NT novel which is 50 utterances. This research can be implicated to literature learning in the 11th grade of senior high school which is in KD 3.7 analyzed values in the novel, and in the 12th grade of senior high school which is in KD 3.9 analyzed the contents and language structure in the novel
