Abstract
Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) is the main vector of Pepper yellow leafcurl virus (PYLCV) which has been widely destroying chili cultivation almost every where in Indonesia. .This research was conducted with the aim to determine the transmission efficiency of PYLCV from infected chilli plant by B. tabaci. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and 10 replications. .The treatment was chilli variety namely curly red chili, green cayenne pepper and white cayenne pepper. .The parameters observed included the incidence of PYLCV, intensity PYLCV and the yiled produced by the treated chilli varieties. Based on the results of this study, it was found that variety of chilli did not affect the incidence and intensity of PYLCV transmitted by B. tabaci. In addition, chilli variety lalso had no significant effect on the yield produced.. Keywords: whitefly, yellow virus, chili plant..
