Abstract

Purun is one of the plants found in peat swamps. This study aims to determine the growth of purun on the type of purun and the number of stems in the seedlings. This research was conducted on August 16 to December 14, 2019 in the experimental garden of the Department of Agriculture Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya Indralaya University. Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design with treatments arranged factorially consisting of two factors. The First factor is the species of purun, consisting of PI = Purun Danau (Lepironia articulata Retz. Domin.). P2= Purun Cucut (Eleocharis dulcis Burm. f. Hanschel.). The second factor is the number of culms used consisting of TI= 1 Stem. T2= 3 Stems and T3 = 5 Stems. The results of the variance analysis BNT 5% showed that the treatment of the purun species and the number of stems having plant height did not significantly affect the lake purun that used stems of 1, 3 and 5 for 12 MST, whereas in the cone cone of stems 1, 3 and 5 for 12 MST also had plant height no significant effect, but the interaction between the two was significantly different at 3 and 4 MST. The number of purun danau buds on stems 1, 3 and 5 at 45 HST had significant effect, while at 90 HST it did not have any significant effect, but at the conical dune stems 1, 3 and 5 at 45 and 90 HST had significant results. Stem height, stem diameter. stem dry weight, rhizome / stolon dry weight, and root dry weight at stem purun danau 1, 3 and 5 at 45 and 90 HST showed no significant effect, whereas at cone stem stems 1, 3 and 5 also had no results have a real impact. The number of roots and root lengths in purun danau and stem purun cucut 1, 3 and 5 at 45 HST also showed no significant effect. Purun danau and Purun cucut physically are different plants the process of growth so that it cannot be compared between the two. Purun danau plants that are planted using 1, 3 and 5 rivers have the same growth, as well as purun cucut which are planted using stems 1, 3 and 5.
