Abstract

This quantitative and comparative research aimed to find out the efficacy’s distinction between fathers and mothers in controlling high-risk behavior of students at SMP N 19 Palembang. The population in this research is a all parents student class seven. Unich amounts to 384 student. This sample on the research totally 100 responden as fifty fatrher and fifty mother wich used the purposive sampling technique. Wich a condition the student have a complete parents and stay at a home together. The purpose of this research it was prove between father and mother efficacy in controlling the high risk childrens’s behavior at SMP N 19 Palembang. The objective of this research is to prove the difference of self’s efficacy between father and mother in controlling the high-risk behavior of children at SMP N 19 Palembang. This comparative research which involved a hundred of students’ parents at SMP N 19 Palembang used questionnaire as the technique in collecting data and the t test formula as the technique in analyzing the data. The result of Hypothesis test indicates that Thitung than Ttabel the insignificant score – 0.029 < 2.00. This signified that there is no distinction between father and mother’s efficacy in controlling the high risk children’s behavior at SMP N 19 Palembang.
