Abstract
Purun Danau (Lepironia articulata Retz. Domin.) and Purun Cucut (Eleocharis dulcis Burm. f. Hanschel.) are plants that can adapt well to peatlands and grow wild and fertile in all undeveloped places. Purun has many benefits both for the environment and the economy of the community. This research was conducted using a Split-Plot Design. The main plot is the water level and subplots are differences in the type of purun plants. The design consisted of 3 replications, each replicate had 2 plants so that 36 experimental units were obtained. Variables observed included plant height, rhizome / stolon growth pattern, number of shoots, number of stems, stem diameter, number of roots, total root length, average root length, stem dry weight, rhizome / stolon dry weight, root dry weight, ratio canopy root, the proportion of dry weight of the plant. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the cone purun plants did not withstand long standing inundation and were inundated with all their seeds. In the treatment of water level 10 cm above the ground surface the cone purun plants are unable to survive. The treatments that produced the highest mean were purun danau and purun cucut with 0 cm water level treatment.
