Abstract

In a power generation sistem there are several electrical equipment that play an important role in the generation sistem itself, one of which is a generator. The damage experienced by the generator will disrupt the operation of the operating sistem, among others, over voltage caused by the release of loads in an interconnection sistem. Therefore it is necessary to conduct a study that aims to simulate the possibility of damage to the generator and interconnection sistem when overvoltage is caused when the load falls with the PLN limit (+ 5% | -10% of nominal voltage), simulation and analysis results using PT. PLN as the base of the power station and this study uses the EMTP / ATP application as the basis for simulation applications. in this study the simulation used 9 different load variations (10 - 90%) and 4 different phase variations (3 phases, phase A, phase B, and phase C), making 36 total simulation and analysis variations. This study uses. Based on the simulation and analysis results obtained in the release of 3 phases, it shows that the highest overvoltage occurs when the 76,05 MVA load is released with an increase in voltage of 23,082 kV kV or 81,608 % of the nominal voltage and at the 1 phase release, indicating the highest voltage at phase A discharge of 76,05 MVA with voltage increase of 23,169 kV or 81,915 % of nominal voltage. On the generator side there is no overvoltage due to no increase in voltage when the load release process occurs.
