Abstract
The research area is located in Cirinten and its surrounding areas, Lebak Regency, Banten Province which is in the coordinates 619019.322 E - 618928,396 E and 9273946,009 N - 9264886,051 N. Purpose and objective of this research is to do a mapping the study area in detail and in more detail including the distribution of assistance, forms of assistance land, stratigraphy, geological structure, and geological history. This method using field observation, petrographic analysis, paleontological analysis, and studio analysis. Tectonically, this research area is located in the Banten Basin. Geomorphology in the research area is divided into two land forms, namely Low Denudational Hills and Volcanic Hills with dendritic flow patterns. The distribution of rocks in the study area are divided into six types of lithology, like crystalline limestone, claystone, sandstone, glassy tuff, crystal tuff, and andesite. The stratigraphy of the research area from old to young consists of Bojongmanik Formation (Tmbs), Malingping Tuff Formation (Tpmt), and Endut Volcano Rock Formation (Qpv). The geological structure that developed in the research area is the Mekarmanik Anticline. Based on the observations, research area has a flow pyroclastic type that composed of pumice with the lithology of lithic tuff and 2 mm in size. Meanwhile, the fine ash that deposited and spread in lateral is the deposition of vitric tuff and composed of glass shards with fine ash in size. Also crystal tuff that has composition of quartz, feldspar, dan plagioclase. This results shows that research area is in the distal facies, those are pumice-rich pyroclastic and fine ash deposition in lateral. After collecting data, it can be concluded that the geological history of the study area began with the deposition of the Bojongmanik Formation which took place during the Late Miocene. Then the Mekarmanik Anticline fold formed in the Central Pliocene with Northeast – Southwest trend. The Malingping Tuff Formation was deposited in the Late Pliocene Period which was triggered by volcanic activity. The Late Pliocene to the Quaternary, volcanic activity has continued to occur small intrusions of Quaternary volcanic rocks and formed andesite rocks in the southern part of the study area.
