Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence people's interest in using Light Rail Transit (LRT) transportation in Palembang. The population in this study was the LRT transportation user community in the area of the DKJA (Opi) station with a total of 624 people. The sample in this study was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique, the sample was taken based on the certain criteria, then the sample was 63 people. This study used a single variable using 5 service quality indicators such as Reliability, Tangibles, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. The data collection is done by documentation and questionnaire techniques. Based on the results of the analysis conducted by the researcher, it can be concluded that there are 5 factors that influence community interest in using Light Rail Transit (LRT) transportation in Palembang, namely reliability factor, tangibles factor, responsiveness factor, assurance factor and emphaty factora.This is seen from the results of a questionnaire analysis conducted by the researcher from five service quality indicators with an average value of 82% reliability, Tangibles 75%, 78% Responsiveness, 80% Assurance, 85% Empathy with an entirety average of 80%. The results of the recapitulation scores obtained by researcher through the results of data analysis is greater than (>) 60. Keywords: Interests Society, Light Rail Transit Transportation (LRT).
