Abstract

This study aims to learn the generic science skills of students through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on Mechanical Wave material. The research was conducted in five learning meetings with students who helped 36 students of Class XI MIPA 2 of SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja. The method used is descriptive method with non-test data collection techniques using observation sheets and multiple choice questions. Based on the results of research and discussion conducted through observation sheets and test questions can be denied the test results on students of class XI MIPA 2 obtained an average score on generic science skills of 76.9% which can be categorized very well. Each KGS indicator has varied results from high to low which is about the concept of 96% with a very good category, logic inference of 94% with a very good category, cause and effect law of 93% with a very good category, very influential 92% with a very good category, indirect observations by 72% with a good category, verification of the principle logic of 68% with a good category, mathematical modeling by 60% with a good category and 40% symbolic language with a sufficient category.
