Abstract
The aim of this research to study at the growth of aloe vera (Aleo vera L.) by giving cow manure and water hyacinth compost. The research was conducted from November 2018 to February 2019 in experimental of Agriculture Faculty Sriwijaya University. The method of this research was Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) which consisted of 6 treatments. The treatments were P1 (250 g plant-1 cow manure), P2 (500 g plant-1 cow manure), P3 (750 g plant-1 cow manure), P4 (150 g plant-1 water hyacinth compost), P5 (300 g plant-1 water hyacinth compost) and P6 (450 g plant -1 water hyacinth compost). The treatments were the repeated four times so there were 24 experiment units, every experimental units consisted of three plants , so there were 72 experiment units. These results indicated that the treatment of water hyacinth compost 300 g plant-1 (P5) was the best treatment for midrib width (0.69 cm), number of tillers (10 tillers), and plant weight (360.7 g).
